Washoe Zephyrs Chapter

The Washoe Zephyrs Chapter of American Business Women was founded over 40 years ago in August of 1963. Things have changed a lot since 1963 for women, however women still need a safe environment to gain business skills; receive mentoring or be a mentor to others; they still need to network to promote themselves and their businesses; further their education; reach out to their communities; and develop friendships.

By participating as a member, committee chair, committee member, or on the executive board you gain hands on experience that helps you in the workplace and in the home.

Monthly meetings consist of time devoted to networking, current business topics by guest speakers, and limited chapter business.

The executive board governs the Chapter and there are numerous committees for members to assist with and manage.

Committees: Hospitality/Membership/Scholarship/Newsletter/Publicity/History/Program/Ways & Means/Woman of the Year

Events include:

Fall - Wine Tasting Event, National Leadership Convention

Spring – Life of Riley Drawing, Women's Expo, Spring Conferences throughout the nation

Because our chapter is a member of the Chamber of Commerce our members can attend Chamber meetings & events.

Meetings are held during dinner with excellent speakers that will deliver the kind of valuable practical information you need to accelerate your climb to the top of your career/business.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Tues. each month from 6 pm - 8 pm. Networking is from 5:30 - 6:00.

Membership: $75.00 annually.
Local dues are $24.00/yr.
Monthly dinner cost is $25.
